Once pioneers who looked for new lands and new ideas and feared nothing, they have forgotten their past and wallow in the stagnant present out of fear. Rather sad. Even sadder is a country that praises the pharmaceutical companies for new drugs but refuses to even consider exploring one that has been around for ages and has potentially positive attributes.

Quite seriously, the most effective approach to minimizing bigotry is starting with the assumption I’m bigoted. If I can accept that, it gives a footing for greater awareness and sensitivity followed by learnings that reduces my native ignorance.
